About Playground Stars
Changing the Future of Youth Sports

Making youth sports more inclusive, engaging, and fun for all.

Our Youth Sports communities are facing a crisis. While revenue is at an all time high, participation is at an all-time low. There are several reasons why this is happening, however the biggest takeaway is this:

If kids can’t afford to play, they are being left behind.

Enter PlaygroundStars

PlaygroundStars is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on a mission to bring funding and fun back to community youth sports. Our platform is designed exclusively for community-focused youth sports organizations, providing them with crowdfunding capabilities and industry-leading technology. By supporting youth sports, we’re not only making sports more accessible but also fostering leadership skills and personal growth for children—helping them develop both on and off the field. This delivers an engaging experience that strengthens community involvement while addressing the cost barrier that many families face—bringing the benefits of pay-to-play models back where they belong, in your own backyard.

‐ Aspen Institute Sports and Society Program

Based on data provided by the Aspen Institute’s Project Play division, we have identified 4 areas of need our platform can address to begin to turn the tides on this systemic issue.

Cost

Equity

Training

Fun

Our first phase will address cost. Without proper funding, nothing else can move forward. That’s why we’re launching the crowdfunding feature first, empowering nonprofits and community-based youth sports organizations to connect directly with their supporters and secure the resources they need. By addressing access to youth sports in underserved communities, we’re making it possible for every child to participate, regardless of their financial background.
