Bio

Adrian Dantley is one of the greatest basketball players ever to come out of the Washington, D.C. area. Born in Washington, D.C., Dantley developed his game locally before starring at DeMatha Catholic High School under legendary coach Morgan Wootten. His success at the youth and high school levels helped pave the way for future generations of DMV basketball talent. Dantley went on to become a two-time First Team All-American at University of Notre Dame, where he played a key role in ending UCLA's historic 88-game winning streak and later helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 1976 Olympics.nnDantley enjoyed a remarkable 15-year NBA career, earning six All-Star selections, two NBA scoring titles, and scoring more than 23,000 career points. Known for his relentless work ethic, elite footwork, and ability to draw fouls, he became one of the most efficient scorers in league history despite overcoming a nearly two-inch difference in leg length. His perseverance and dedication to mastering the fundamentals made him a role model for young athletes everywhere. In 2008, Dantley was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest players ever produced by the Washington, D.C. basketball community.
