Bio

Justin Bour built his baseball career through persistence, hard work, and a deep family connection to sports. Born in Washington, D.C., Bour grew up in nearby Virginia, where he became a standout athlete at Westfield High School, earning First Team All-Met honors after leading his team to a division championship. Baseball ran in the family—his father, mother, and brother were all athletes at George Mason University—and Bour continued that tradition by becoming one of the most accomplished players in school history. He left George Mason among the program's all-time leaders in home runs, RBIs, total bases, and fielding, establishing himself as one of the top power hitters to come through the university.nnDespite being selected in the 25th round of the MLB Draft, Bour never stopped proving people wrong. He worked his way through the minor leagues before breaking through with the Miami Marlins, where he became one of the team's most reliable power hitters. In 2015, he finished fifth in National League Rookie of the Year voting after leading the Marlins in RBIs and helping anchor their lineup. Bour later played for the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Angels, while also competing professionally in Japan, South Korea, and Mexico. Following his playing career, he returned to the game in player development, helping mentor the next generation of athletes. His journey from Washington, D.C. to Major League Baseball highlights the value of perseverance, continuous improvement, and making the most of every opportunity.
