There, he became both an Academic All-American and one of the most accomplished players in school history, scoring 1,699 career points while maintaining an outstanding academic record. Legler helped lead La Salle to the 1987 National Invitation Tournament championship game and the 1988 NCAA Tournament, proving that excellence in the classroom and on the court can go hand in hand.
